TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Please read the T&Cs of service. All clients are required to sign the T&Cs prior to their dog's first appointment.

PRICING AND QUOTES - All estimated prices assume:

  • The pet's coat is well maintained free from Knots, matts and tangles.

  • The pet is well-behaved, shows no aggression and groomed on a regular schedule

  • The pet is not overweight or oversized for the breed.

The Soggy Dog Spa will not be able to give an accurate quote until we have seen the pet in person and assessed the condition of the coat and required work. During the consultation or the grooming process, it may become apparent that additional fees will need to be charged (eg fleas/matting), you will in this case be informed during the consultation or on collection. Payment must be made in full at the time of collecting your pet.

MATTING.
We follow the Animal Welfare Act and consider de-matting to be inhumane. We will only brush out coats that take less than 15 minutes to de-matt if your pet tolerates the process, and it doesn’t cause pain or discomfort (please see Matting policy for further information). Additional fees apply to de-matting.

CANCELLING YOUR PET'S APPOINTMENT.
The Soggy Dog Spa respectfully requests at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your pet's appointment.

LATE CANCELLATIONS (of less than 48hrs notice)
Cancellations or rescheduling of appointments of less than 48 hours' notice will incur a fee of 50% of your pet’s groom price. Cats: if your cat is an outdoor cat, it is advised to keep your pet in from the night before your appointment.

NO-SHOWS
If you do not attend your appointment and do not contact The Soggy Dog Spa to cancel the appointment, this will be classed as a no-show. No-shows are charged at the full groom amount. This is due to the slot being reserved solely for your pet and being unable to be filled.

Late cancellation/no-show fees are payable before any further appointments will be offered. Failure to pay the late cancellation/no-show fee will result in no further appointments being offered.

Clients are sent reminders via the appointment booking system; this is a courtesy, and it remains the client's responsibility to remember their appointment.

TIME KEEPING.
Please be punctual. The Soggy Dog Spa works by appointment only; the appointment slot allocated for your pet's groom has been booked for your pet. Some pets that visit the salon may be reactive or aggressive to other pets, therefore it is in your and other pet’s interest not to cross over and to be collected and dropped off at the agreed times. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your appointment time.

FLEAS/PARASITES
If fleas are found on your pet, The Soggy Dog Spa will bathe your pet in a flea shampoo, need to deep clean and treat the salon to prevent flea infestations or fleas being passed to other pets. This will incur a £15 charge on your grooming bill to cover the additional time and products used.

FEEDBACK
Repeat custom is important to us. If after your groom, you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the groom, please let us know before you leave. Reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with immediately, or changes noted for the next groom. We are happy to disclose any details of your pet’s groom or advise you about how best to care for your pet's coat.

TOILETING
Please ensure your pet has had an adequate chance to relieve itself before you come to the salon. This helps to ensure your pet is comfortable during their groom. Dogs: Please bag up your pet's mess and put it in the bin if your pet has an accident outside our home. In the interest of hygiene, please discourage your dog from urinating on things in our back garden.

ACCIDENTS
Accidents are always a possibility. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Cuts, nicks, and scratches are possible problems that could occur when a pet is wiggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, but if the pet does not accept the process, it can be dangerous for us to continue the groom. We will always advise owners of any and all known injuries caused while your pet is in our care, but should any be found after collection that were not discussed, please contact us within 24 hours to report them and any treatments if necessary.

HEALTH
I confirm that my pet is fit and healthy. I agree that the groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness, or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin conditions or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping, shaving, or any other mishap caused by my non-disclosure of my pet’s medical condition or behaviour. The grooming of elderly pets is undertaken entirely at the owner’s risk. The Soggy Dog Spa will carry out a health check before and during the grooming session and will notify the owner of anything The Soggy Dog Spa finds. It will be the owner’s responsibility to seek veterinary advice. We are not medical professionals, and our health checks do not replace the need to take your pet to the vets for check-ups, advice, and treatment.

SEEKING VETERINARY TREATMENT
Should my pet's health prove a cause for concern, and I am not contactable, I authorize The Soggy Dog Spa to contact my Veterinary Surgeon or any other veterinary surgeon and obtain treatment at my expense. In the first instance, The Soggy Dog Spa will always try to contact the owner, except when emergency veterinary care needs to be sought.

BEHAVIOUR/AGGRESSIVE PETS
If my pet attempts to bite, a muzzle or Elizabethan collar may be used at the discretion of The Soggy Dog Spa. Additionally, grooming may stop, and the owner will pay for all work done to that point. Owners MUST inform us if your has bitten previously, or is aggressive toward people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. This is to ensure the pet’s and groomer’s safety. We reserve the right to refuse or stop services for your pet at any time before or during the grooming process. There will be an additional charge for aggressive/difficult-to-handle pets.

For the safety of the groomer, all cats will have their claws clipped before grooming takes place.
