FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN SHOULD MY PUPPY GET THEIR FIRST GROOM?

It’s important to have your puppy groomed as soon as possible so they can get used to and learn to love the grooming experience.  It is recommended to book your puppy in for a puppy visit as soon as they're able to go for walks.
During their first visit your puppy will be introduced to the sights, sounds and smells of the grooming salon ensuring that future visits are stress free.

CAN YOU DE-MATT MY DOG?

Under the Animal Welfare Act it is illegal to cause pain and suffering to an animal. Therefore, any de-matting will only be carried out in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act. This means that very matted coats will need to be removed, by shaving on a short blade. You will be advised if this needs to be done, this service is subject to an additional fee from £10.

DO YOU GROOM DOGS IN SEASON?

Dogs in season are often uncomfortable and don't tolerate the grooming process. Please rearrange your dog's appointment if they come into season.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER DOGS IN THE SALON?

Your dog has exclusive use of the salon during their appointment. A quiet and calm environment often helps nervous dogs to relax. The only time more than one dog is in the salon, is when they're from the same family.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices are based on breed, behaviour, coat condition, size and temperament. The Soggy Dog Spa can give an estimate for grooming, however the price will be confirmed after a consultation on the first appointment.

CAN I COME TO SEE THE SALON?

Of course! The Soggy Dog Spa offer a complimentary 'Meet and Treat' where the owner and dog can visit the salon. This is a no-obligation service where you're able to see the salon, meet the groomer and discuss your grooming requirements. This service is great for nervous dogs.
